Thank you to all who attended our 2017 fundraising Luncheon on Friday, October 20, 2017. Supporters, volunteers and guests packed the Grand Ballroom in the Multnomah Athletic Club and helped celebrate Project Lemonade, its incredible support system, and the courageous foster youth we serve.
Local author Ruth Wariner, whose best-selling memoir The Sound of Gravel transports readers into her unforgettable, gut-wrenching childhood, bravely shared her personal story and illuminated what Project Lemonade would have meant to her. Ms. Wariner's efforts to help others find the strength not just to survive but to thrive inspired every attendee.
Tracie Tra'Renee Chambers, our gracious emcee, kept the event moving smoothly; Betsy Lake and interns Diamond, Sage and Isa showcased our paid internship program, now in its second season; Austin Blythe orchestrated our first paddle-raise; Quarter4 Media created a video highlighting our history and mission; Ashley Irish coordinated the event with ingenuity and aplomb.
We're more than grateful to all who lifted their paddle literally and figuratively to raise funds for Project Lemonade. Our community truly cares, and on October 20 demonstrated a commitment to helping us support foster youth.
