Birthday Wish is Donations to Project Lemonade

Thank you Jen Andres, a former board member of Project Lemonade, who included a clothing collection in a VW Bug at her birthday party. The Bug was literally filled with mostly new donations to Project Lemonade. We love your inspiration and creativity! And thank you to all your guests who gave so generously to foster youth with clothing and monetary donations.

In recognition of Maya's Foster Care Awareness month Project Lemonade hosted its first Fill the Truck event in the West Hills neighborhood on May 2. Neighbors were able to conveniently drop off new and nearly new items in a rented moving truck. Over 56 neighbors generously donated clothing and shoes, more than $1,500 was raised, and the truck was filled! If your neighborhood, workplace, school or organization would like to learn how to organize a Fill the Truck event contact Madison Burke:

Project Lemonade Benefits from Local Restaurants

Thank you to both Fireside and Besaw’s’ Restaurants in NW Portland. Fireside shared its proceeds with Project Lemonade on the first Sunday in May and Besaw’s shared it’s profits with us from the entire month of August. These events not only brought funds to support our work but they also provided an opportunity for diners to learn a little more about Project Lemonade and its mission. We thank both restaurants for their support.

With a lot of hard work and dedication, Project Lemonade volunteers organized its first successful fundraising luncheon held on September 19, 2014. The luncheon, held at the Multnomah Athletic Club, was attended by 314 guests. We wish to thank the following sponsors for stepping up to make the event so successful:

TMT Development, Teri Beatty, Windermere Real Estate, Northwest Self Storage, Heather Killough, R&H Construction, Windermere Foundation, Metro Metals Norwest, J.B. Nibley Insurance, Boly Welch, Parr Lumber, The Standard, Allen Trust Company, Stewart Title, Garvey Schubert Barer, Mario’s, The Cellar Door, Strategic Financial Partners.

August 2014 marked Project Lemonade’s third back-to-school free shopping event for foster youth living in the greater Portland metro area. Nearly every youth who came to the store walked away with new or nearly new denim, coat, shirts, shoes, socks, underwear and accessories such as backpacks.  We served 1700 Foster Youth in nine counties with an estimated 4000 hours of volunteer time.
