Inspiring Self-Esteem in 2023

Dear Friends,

Last year Project Lemonade celebrated our 10th anniversary. During this milestone year, we:

  • Provided 2,658 self-esteem inspiring youth engagements in our store, internship and WISH programs.

  • Deepened our partnerships in rural areas to provide clothing resources for youth across the state.

  • Renovated our store in Lloyd Center to improve shopping experiences for youth and families.

Project Lemonade aspires to be a leader in foster youth services so that no foster youth in Oregon has to wait for the resources, opportunities and connections they need to thrive.

Working in tandem with our Advisory Council, ODHS partners, and youth advocates we evaluated needs in the community and set impact goals for the coming year.

GOALS FOR 2023:

  1. Expand self-esteem inspiring support through our core programs. Allow youth to shop multiple times per year, increase funding for WISH and offer Level 1 and 2 internships.

  2. Launch Inspire Network: Pilot program to address urgent needs identified by the State of Oregon to support teens aging out of care. Offer skill-building services, peer mentorship and community.

  3. Launch “Fill the Gap” Scholarship: Funding to help youth stay in school and graduate from post-secondary education programs.

  4. Open the “Project Lemonade Workshop:” Located next to the Project Lemonade store, the Workshop is a mixed-use space for meetings, training, workspace and community events.

Sincerely,

Lindsay McDonnell (she/her)
Project Lemonade Executive Director

P.S. Join me in supporting SB 58, to mandate a "No Garbage Bag Policy" for children in Oregon's foster care system. The bill will mandate that duffel bags be used when moving children instead of garbage bags - an experience that many foster youth remember vividly. Submit testimony here
